About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Connect Healthcare Rotherham CIC. As a key member of our extended access team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses in planning, developing, and implementing health promotion programs to promote well-being and prevent adverse effects on health.
  • Help identify appropriate care and treatment plans for patients at risk of developing long-term conditions.
  • Act appropriately in emergency situations and with deteriorating patients.
  • Support patients in adopting health promotion strategies and applying principles of self-care.
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion and support patients in adopting healthy lifestyles.
  • Care for patients with uncomplicated wounds and perform venepuncture, urinalysis, and ear care (dependent on training).
  • Set up equipment for procedures, maintain decontamination and infection control measures, and take blood pressure, pulse, and other observations as necessary.

Person Specification

  • Mandatory training completed annually.
  • Evidenced qualifications in skills and updates, and evidence of care certificate/NVQs or equivalent.
  • Awareness of the needs of patients with long-term conditions, accountability of own role, and knowledge of health promotion strategies.
  • Basic IT skills and use of clinical systems.
