We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreational Therapist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in promoting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program to enhance patient engagement and participation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify patient needs and preferences, and design activities that cater to these needs.
- Lead and facilitate group and individual activities, including creative, social, and physical pursuits.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the activity program and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on the benefits of recreational therapy and how to access these services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to recreational therapy.
- GCSE qualifications or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in recreational therapy or a related field.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of frailty and dementia care principles.
