Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 Based on Experience

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM (4 PM finish on Fridays), totaling 36.5 hours per week.
This role presents an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established manufacturing firm located in Telford as an Accounts Assistant. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for managing both purchase and sales ledgers, as well as gathering payroll information for the outsourced payroll provider on a four-weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger Duties:
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring they are matched with delivery notes and approved prior to payment.
- Address supplier invoice inquiries and maintain the invoice log to ensure timely processing.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of supplier statements to confirm invoices are processed for payment on time.
- Initiate supplier payments, including mid-month, month-end, and any ad-hoc payments.
Sales Ledger Duties:
- Communicate with customers to ensure timely and complete payment of invoices.
- Monitor customer credit limits to ensure all balances are adequately covered.
- Collaborate with the Senior Accountant to promptly resolve customer invoice queries.
- Process manual sales invoices and credit notes as needed.
- Allocate and post customer cash receipts in the accounting system.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage petty cash funds (both Sterling and Euros).
- Process four-weekly payroll using payroll software.
- Prepare payroll journals and accrue for unpaid wages at month-end.
- Generate HMRC, payroll, and other non-purchase ledger payments.
- Assist external auditors during the year-end audit process.
- Support the Accounts Department with various ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller and Company Secretary.
- Perform daily CID reporting and monthly reconciliations.
- Conduct bi-annual bank audits.
