Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join our Casualty team at Davies. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for handling allocated claims, communicating with insurers, policyholders, and brokers, and determining appropriate actions to resolve each case.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaison and Communication: Establish and maintain effective relationships with insurers, policyholders, and brokers to ensure seamless claim handling.
  • Investigation and Evidence Gathering: Conduct thorough investigations of allocated claims, gathering all relevant evidence and documentation to support claim resolution.
  • Resolution and Reporting: Determine appropriate actions to resolve each case, preparing detailed reports as needed to advise on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics.
  • Negotiation and Settlement: Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits, maintaining proactive communication with all parties involved.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Handle cases according to documented procedures and client requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Reserve Management: Regularly review and maintain proper reserves to ensure accurate claim valuation.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on technical changes relevant to your role, participating in company-facilitated training programs to enhance your skills and expertise.
Requirements
  • Essential Skills:
    • Proficiency in managing claims from cradle to grave.
    • Experience managing property claims.
    • Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
    • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
    • Collaborative team player.
    • Management of personal caseload.
    • Demonstrated adaptability and versatility.
  • Desirable Skills:
    • Experience with the investigation of liability claims.
    • Knowledge of how to value injury claims.
    • Familiarity with reserving strategies.
