Senior Planner Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our Planning Development team at Newark and Sherwood District Council.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on planning development projects, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on planning development projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve project objectives
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, community groups, and other council teams
  • Provide expert advice on planning policy and development management
  • Contribute to the development of planning policies and strategies

Requirements

  • Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent
  • Education to level 7 (Masters or equivalent) in Planning or a relevant subject area
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
