Product Safety Engineer

Location: Flexible working arrangements available, with options for hybrid and remote work. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Safety Engineer to join our Safety & Environmental team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on product safety matters, engaging with third parties, and developing safety arguments using appropriate safety analyses methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safety engineering advice to project and engineering managers, ensuring safety considerations are correctly considered and implemented.
- Engage with third parties to review and gather supporting safety case evidence.
- Develop safety arguments, both physical and functional, using appropriate safety analyses methods.
- Line manage other safety practitioners.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Strong understanding of safety engineering processes, practices, and tools.
- Clear understanding of safety engineering & assurance principles.
- Experience and qualified engineers from other disciplines who display the correct behaviours and have an understanding of safety engineering, will actively be considered for this role.
Desirable:
- Good communication skills and ability to interact and manage stakeholders.
