The Role: Power Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Stevenage. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing cutting-edge communication payload equipment for next-generation satellites.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of analogue and power circuitry, encompassing specifications, schematic capture, simulation, and component selection.
  • Ensure optimal PCB power integrity, thermal management, grounding, and fault propagation mitigation.
  • Collaborate closely with product engineers and PCB layout specialists to deliver robust designs.
  • Generate comprehensive design documentation, including Worst Case Analysis, Parts Stress Analysis, and FMECA reports.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in the hardware design lifecycle, from requirements capture to verification.
  • In-depth knowledge of power electronic circuit design principles, including active protection circuits, magnetics, and DC-DC converters.
  • Expertise in using Spice simulation software for detailed analysis.
