In this pivotal role within our planning division, you will lead a variety of planning applications, policy initiatives, and revitalization projects aimed at fostering sustainable development and improving the living standards of our community.
Urban Development Strategy:
Spearhead the creation and execution of local planning policies, frameworks, and strategies that promote sustainable growth and tackle emerging urban challenges.
- Oversee a portfolio of intricate planning applications, appeals, and enforcement issues, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
Project Coordination:
Manage cross-functional teams, consultants, and stakeholders to successfully deliver significant development projects and revitalization initiatives from conception to completion.
Policy Formulation:
Provide valuable insights and expertise in the development and assessment of local planning policies, including the Local Plan, Supplementary Planning Documents, and Neighbourhood Plans.
Community Involvement:
Foster engagement with residents, businesses, community organizations, and elected officials to encourage meaningful participation in the planning process and address local issues.
Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or an equivalent professional qualification is required.
- Significant experience in a planning capacity within a local authority or similar public sector setting, demonstrating a successful history of achieving high-quality planning results.
- Thorough understanding of planning legislation, policy frameworks, and best practice guidelines pertinent to urban and environmental planning.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for inspiring and motivating colleagues and stakeholders.
- Competence in utilizing planning-related software and digital tools, such as GIS, CAD, and planning application systems.
