Job Overview
As a key member of our culinary team, you will oversee kitchen operations and dining services while actively engaging in the preparation, baking, cooking, and serving of a variety of meals. Your responsibilities will include managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring that stock levels are maintained effectively.
Qualifications
A minimum of SVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking or an equivalent qualification is required. Relevant experience in a similar role is essential, and you should possess a compassionate and positive demeanor when working with elderly individuals, adapting to their diverse dietary requirements.
Desirable Certifications
While not mandatory, the REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or an equivalent certification is preferred.
Position Details
Position Title: Cook (Chargehand)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 18 hours per week, on a 5-week rota including weekends.
Salary Information
The minimum actual salary for this role is based on 18 hours per week over a full year.
Important Considerations
This position is classified as Regulated Work with Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. Therefore, applicants barred from working with protected adults are ineligible to apply. Successful candidates will need to obtain PVG Scheme membership for this role.
