Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer to support our team in maintaining our customers' commercial heating and plumbing assets. As a Field-based HVAC commercial gas and plumbing engineer, you will work on industry-defining projects, finding solutions to real challenges that make a difference to people's lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform reactive maintenance to ensure prompt resolution of issues
  • Conduct proactive maintenance to prevent equipment failures and optimize system performance
  • Attend scheduled planned maintenance visits (PPMs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support office staff and liaise with suppliers to identify required parts for jobs
  • Liaise with clients to manage relationships and services
  • Maintain water supply systems, including locating and repairing issues with water supply lines
  • Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, etc.
  • Servicing and repairing gas heating boilers in commercial premises
  • Installing and maintaining gas heating systems, including small gas-fired boilers, radiators, pipework, etc.
  • Cutting, assembling, and installing pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure
  • Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota to ensure 24/7 support
Service Delivery

Demonstrate an understanding of service delivery excellence for your role, ensuring you deliver the basics right every time and are part of a team where service is central to good performance.

Managing Risk

Awareness of operational and regulation risks that may impact your operations. Responsibility for reporting to your line manager any risk that may impact the business.

Managing Health & Safety

Adhere to Risk Assessments and Method Statements, compiling reports in line with H&S requirements.

Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of commercial/domestic plumbing systems
  • Comprehensive technical skills to fault find and rectify
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Flexible approach to work, prepared to work out of hours when required, and part of the out-of-hours call-out rota
Desirable
  • IT literate with a tablet or PDA
  • Experience of working in a field-based engineering/construction environment
  • Air Conditioning Systems Experience
  • Renewable technology
