Overview:

As a key member of the Global Supply and Procurement legal division, you will provide comprehensive legal guidance for Global Procurement initiatives and associated operational workflows. Your responsibilities will include:

● Offering legal counsel to the Global Procurement team on contractual matters and legal challenges, ensuring the efficient negotiation of high-value agreements that influence various markets.

● Developing and delivering customized training sessions, resources, and templates tailored to the needs of both the Global Procurement team and regional legal departments.

● Addressing diverse legal concerns, including reputation management, group litigation, and regulatory compliance related to Global Procurement as necessary.

Leadership Duties:

● Designated legal advisor for specific project teams, holding primary responsibility for particular procurement stakeholders.

● Collaborating with fellow members of the legal team to engage with regional legal departments, enhancing capabilities and integrating best practices in Procurement and related legal matters.

Role Objectives:

● Facilitate the successful execution of Global Procurement projects and contracts.

● Focus on empowering regional legal professionals and Global Procurement colleagues to effectively manage risks and minimize reliance on senior legal counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

● Deliver insightful solutions and judgements informed by a broad client perspective.

● Ensure that legal and reputational risks are effectively managed within the Global Procurement function and on overarching global matters.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

1. Essential Qualifications & Experience:

● Qualified lawyer with admission to practice in relevant jurisdictions, possessing substantial in-house commercial experience (minimum of 5 years' PQE).

2. Key Functional and Leadership Skills:

● Demonstrated professionalism and integrity, with strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in contract drafting and negotiation.

● Practical commercial approach, with the ability to articulate legal concepts in a clear and actionable manner.

● Experience in managing external legal resources effectively, ensuring optimal value from external legal services.

● Capability in developing practical tools and delivering effective training within the Global Procurement and regional legal teams.

● Proficient in project management and both verbal and written communication.

● Solid understanding of compliance risks, intellectual property, antitrust, and data privacy laws, along with the ability to engage specialized subject matter experts when necessary.

● Ability to identify and evaluate legal, reputational, operational, and strategic risks, facilitating effective risk mitigation strategies.

● Creative problem-solving skills to provide innovative legal solutions.

● Strong relationship-building skills, consistently sought after by stakeholders for consultation.
