Design Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator or Design Manager to join our client, a leading building contractor, on a prestigious project in Cardiff.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the lead Design Manager on a major scheme that will run for approximately 3 years. You will have exposure to all elements of the project and play a key role in the overall delivery of the technical design.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate the work of architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure effective integration of design elements.
- Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the design meets their expectations.
- Ensure the construction project complies with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Oversee the development of budgets and schedules for the design phase of the construction project.
- Identify and address design or technical issues that may arise during the construction phase and work with the project team to find solutions.
- Review and evaluate change requests to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of design-related activities and provide regular status reports to project stakeholders.
- Support the construction team with technical guidance and design information during the construction phase.
- Participate in project closeout activities, including conducting final inspections, preparing final reports, and ensuring all design documentation is complete.
This role would suit a design coordinator or manager from a housing or main contracting background, or someone from an architectural background looking to transition into main contracting.
