Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team at JAB Recruitment. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for the preparation of surfaces and applying paint to various materials using a spray gun.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and mask surfaces as necessary to ensure a smooth paint application.
  • Paint Selection and Mixing: Select and mix paint colors to match specifications, ensuring accurate color matching and consistency.
  • Paint Application: Apply paint to surfaces using a spray gun, ensuring even coverage and minimal drips or runs.
  • Quality Control: Monitor drying times and make adjustments as necessary to ensure high-quality paint finishes.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain spray guns and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Waste Management: Properly contain and dispose of hazardous waste generated from paint shop operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure customer orders are completed on time and to the required standard.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as an Industrial Spray Painter or similar role, with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in an engineering environment.
  • Skills: Knowledge of painting techniques and materials, ability to mix and match paint colors, excellent attention to detail, and physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Qualifications: Practical training in an Industrial Paint Spraying function, with a Level 3 (NVQ) Industrial Paint Occupations qualification desirable.
Desirable Skills
  • Overhead Crane Experience: Experience with using lifting equipment and overhead cranes.
  • Knowledge of PPE and HSE: Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements for operating spray painting equipment.
