Lead Engineering Coordinator - Client Direct / In-house - East London - Up to £58,000

CBW Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a qualified M&E Lead Engineering Coordinator to oversee and manage the building control systems, maintenance programs, and maintenance personnel for the assigned property.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday (40 hours)
Week 1: 06:30am to 15:30pm
Week 2: 08:00am to 17:00pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the operations of the planned maintenance team, ensuring that preventative maintenance tasks are executed to the highest quality standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults, performing repairs, adjustments, and other maintenance activities as necessary.
  • Conduct routine servicing, repairs, or adjustments of machinery and equipment in line with the planned maintenance schedule as directed by the Building Control Coordinator.
  • Adopt a versatile approach to other skills or trades to ensure cost-effective completion of all tasks.
  • Oversee, monitor, and update the building's planned maintenance and access control systems.
  • Assist the Building Services Manager in preparing and implementing planned maintenance schedules for all equipment and monitor compliance.
  • Support the Building Services Manager in supervising all maintenance and engineering activities.
  • Ensure that all service areas, plant rooms, and inspection cupboards are maintained in excellent condition at all times.
  • Assist with the inspection and testing of fire and life safety systems.
  • Supervise staff to uphold the highest standards of performance.
  • Prepare defect schedules for plant, services, and building structures, coordinating necessary remedial actions with the Building Services Managers.
  • Assist in drafting specifications and recommendations for modifications to existing services, plant, and equipment as required.
  • Record and schedule all energy and fuel costs and consumption, including temperature and humidity levels.
  • Familiarize and comply with the Company's Health & Safety policies and assist the Building Services Managers in meeting these requirements.
  • Ensure all relevant parties are informed of any necessary shutdowns or testing of plant, fire, and life safety systems that may impact building operations.
  • Collaborate with the Building Services Managers to enhance service and maintenance recommendations, ensuring tenants receive maximum benefit from building facilities with minimal disruption.
  • Be available outside normal working hours for emergency situations.
  • Organize and maintain accessibility to all service manuals, drawings, certificates, and other documentation related to building equipment and systems.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of staff time/task sheets in accordance with procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Building Services Manager and Building Managers.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical or Electrical qualifications (C&G, NVQ, Apprenticeship, etc.)
  • Proven experience with electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within a large facility, demonstrating a flexible, innovative, and hands-on approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in IT with a solid understanding of MS Office.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Essential knowledge in: Key Manager Programme Modules, IOSH Managing Safely, C&G Water Treatment, relevant emergency procedures, and insurance impairment procedures.
  • Must be able to provide work references and copies of trade qualifications.
