About the Role

Hays Senior Finance is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic executive to join their finance leadership team as Group Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global leader in mobile games development, managing all financial reporting elements for EMEA entities and branches, as well as day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee financial accounting for European subsidiaries, ensuring consistent accounting practices and compliance with local standards.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information, meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal control policies, monitoring and improving internal control systems to prevent fraud and optimise efficiency.
  • Oversee European payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with local regulations.
  • Drive initiatives to automate and optimise accounting operations, enhancing the efficiency of monthly/quarterly close cycles and improving accuracy through streamlined processes.

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, or CA (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Experience with managing European accounting operations, including month and year-end closes.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and filings.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading finance teams, implementing internal controls, and driving process improvements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change management.
  • Progressive substantive experience in finance and accounting leadership roles.
