Locum Consultant Anaesthetist

The Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Locum Consultant Anaesthetist to join our forward-thinking team. This is a whole-time position, and the new appointee will share the caseload, facilities, and trainee grade support with the existing consultants.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to provide pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, and follow-up. They will be expected to introduce and apply new techniques as appropriate and take a share of the general work of the department, including cover for consultant colleagues where practical.
Key Requirements- MB ChB, MBBS or equivalent
- Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), or eligible for registration within six months of interview. This must include at least 8 years working in the speciality of anaesthetics. Of these 8 years of Anaesthesia (at least 2 years' experience must be within hospitals in the UK). At least 1 referee must be an Anaesthesia consultant.
- Five year's experience in undertaking anaesthesia in the UK.

What We OfferWe offer a whole-time post of 10 PA's and 9 programmed activities (PAs), and 1 SPA. The appointee will take his/her share of clinical responsibilities within the Department of anaesthesia. This will include provision for peri-operative assessment. In addition to duties within subspeciality, the appointee will be required to provide anaesthesia for adult patients in all specialties as appropriate to his/her training and experience.
