About Us
Trowers & Hamlins is seeking to appoint a Restructuring and Insolvency Associate with experience in transactional, advisory, and contentious matters. The successful candidate will collaborate with our cross-office Insolvency team, engaging in both non-contentious restructuring and insolvency litigation.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing guidance to office holders, directors, lenders, and other stakeholders on matters related to restructuring and insolvency;
- Representing office holders and purchasers in transactions involving distressed businesses and asset sales;
- Engaging in insolvency litigation, including claims related to breach of duty and transactions at undervalue;
- Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision;
- Assisting partners with complex issues, including distressed transactions and insolvency litigation;
- Cultivating and sustaining effective client relationships;
- Participating in marketing initiatives, such as client training sessions, seminars, and contributions to our quarterly insolvency newsletter;
- Ensuring compliance with Lexcel procedures in file management;
- Engaging in firm-wide and departmental training programs;
- Meeting established targets while managing files, time, and billing in an efficient and cost-effective manner;
- Contributing to the training and development of junior staff as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Our firm has a structured Career Development Framework outlining the competencies expected at the Associate/Senior Associate level. For this position, we require:
- A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience;
- Experience in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, particularly concerning distressed transactions;
- The capability to assume responsibility and manage files independently when necessary;
- A strong client-centric approach and dedication to service excellence;
- Enthusiasm and a proactive mindset;
- Flexibility and a positive attitude.
