We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bank Chef to join our team at Adderley Green, a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service. As a Bank Chef, you will play a vital role in crafting daily meals for service users, staff, and visitors, while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring efficient and effective food preparation and service.
- Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking into account special requests and dietary requirements.
- Serve food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Participate in food costings and cost control procedures to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Adhere to 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record-keeping procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
- Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Assist the Head Chef in researching and creating new menus, ensuring meals meet high quality and healthy eating guidelines.
- Be 18 years or older.
- Hold GCSE or equivalent English.
- Hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
- Hold Basic Food Hygiene certification.
- Have supervising qualification or be working towards it.
- Have experience preparing and producing quality food to a high standard.
- Have knowledge of menu planning and costing.
- Have previous experience in delivering a service on a large scale.
- An hourly rate of £13.50 (including 12.07% holiday allowance uplift).
- A two-week paid induction.
