Key Responsibilities
- Medical Assistance: Deliver emergency and non-emergency medical care on-site.
- Emergency Preparedness: Aid in the management of medical emergency protocols by reviewing and enhancing existing procedures.
- Training and Development: Provide medical training and mentorship to Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
- Emergency Response Participation: Engage in emergency response training to familiarize with various roles during crises.
- Facility Management: Oversee on-site medical facilities to ensure prompt and professional responses.
- Training Sessions: Conduct regular training on the use of defibrillators and other medical issues.
- Health Audits: Develop and maintain an auditing process for health and medical management.
- Health & Safety Support: Assist the Health & Safety Manager in fulfilling reporting obligations and analyzing health data.
- Policy Adherence: Promote and comply with company methodologies, policies, and standards.
- Legislative Interpretation: Aid in understanding legislation standards and agreements related to risk management.
- Collaboration: Work alongside the OHS Department on health, hygiene, and workers' compensation projects.
- Data Management: Ensure efficient administration and recording of injury management data.
- Biological Monitoring: Conduct regular monitoring related to exposure to hazardous substances.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Paramedical Science or equivalent experience with State Ambulance Service, or Bachelor of Science (Nursing).
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Experience in emergency medical care and first responder roles.
- Western Australian Driver's License (Manual 'C' Class).
- Familiarity with RFDS protocols and medical evacuation procedures.
- Knowledge of Injury Management and Return to Work processes.
- Experience in rural and remote medical services.
- A minimum of three years' experience in the mining sector.
- Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills.
- Background in Workers' Compensation and Injury Management.
- Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or Hygiene.
- Exposure to emergency response situations in mining environments.
- Familiarity with INX systems.
- Certification in Training & Assessing.
