Project Purchaser

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Project Purchaser, responsible for negotiating, creating, and maintaining supply contracts with suppliers associated with specific customer-related projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage with suppliers to meet project requirements, ensuring quality, delivery time, cost, and lead time targets are met.
  • Manage and develop supply performance to meet set targets, reviewing and verifying technical specifications and requirements as necessary.
  • Negotiate and create supply contracts, communicating results to internal project stakeholders and maintaining supplier relations.
  • Maintain supply data in relevant systems, participating in or executing supplier audits and following up on audit action plans.
  • Secure supplier capacity to meet future demands, gathering and analyzing spend and supplier performance data to continuously improve supplier performance.
  • Participate in project reviews, input to project plans, timelines, and costs, supplying and maintaining supplier metrics and supply KPIs for the project.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous buying and sourcing experience within manufacturing, with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in procurement, including at least 3 years in project procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures, with proficiency in using procurement software and MRP planning systems.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and MRP planning systems.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
