Position Overview

Thor Companies is seeking skilled Field Installation Specialists.

We are collaborating with a prominent partner that provides engineering solutions and products primarily to the offshore energy sector.

This role is contractual with competitive remuneration for a duration of six months, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks as directed by the Installation Engineering Manager or the assigned project team, focusing on technical challenges while occasionally engaging in administrative and project management duties.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and the International Business Unit Leader to ensure that all project goals, timelines, deliverables, and milestones are achieved.
  • Oversee the installation engineering of subsea equipment, encompassing development, assessment, engineering, design, procurement, and construction phases to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Provide guidance and supervision of engineering tasks performed by the project team.
  • Develop and review installation engineering procedures and specifications to ensure adherence to design principles, relevant standards, and client requirements.
  • Prepare design modifications, specifications, schematics, and testing plans for installation equipment and subsea hardware, including vendor selection and creating scopes of work for subcontractors.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and analyses as necessary.
  • Draft installation and maintenance procedures.
  • Review product designs and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and System Integration Tests (SIT).
  • Establish project deliverable timelines by analyzing project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing deliverables.
  • Create presentations, articles, and technical documentation.
  • Engage in non-engineering activities such as overseeing offshore operations and supervising OPG projects and subcontractors.
  • Occasional travel and work within the EMEA region, both onshore and offshore, may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or Ocean Engineering).
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in MathCAD, 3D, and 2D AutoCAD.
  • All necessary offshore certifications must be current.
  • Possession of a Seamen's book.
  • Valid work permit for the UK.
