About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Shorterm Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance electric motors and controllers for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop parts and assemblies for high-performance electric motors and controllers.
  2. Manage the product lifecycle from concept through to production, testing, and verification.
  3. Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and supporting calculations and analysis.
  4. Select materials and production methods to develop innovative, high-performance designs.
  5. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve design and development challenges.
  6. Participate in design for manufacturing and engineering processes to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performing solutions.
Requirements
  1. Degree or equivalent in mechanical, electro-mechanical, or relevant engineering discipline.
  2. Proven experience in a design and development environment, applying engineering principles to real-world challenges.
  3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, NX, SolidWorks) for creating design concepts and production parts.
  4. Understanding of design for manufacturing and series production processes.
  5. Familiarity with drawing control systems such as PLM or SolidWorks PDM.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Basic CAE analysis skills (FEM, CFD, vibration and modal).
  2. Experience with composite materials and bonding dissimilar materials.
