Highway Engineer Job Opportunity

Carrington West is seeking a skilled Highway Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. As a result of significant investment in our client's transport network, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of robust highway infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct feasibility studies and develop final designs for highway schemes, ensuring compliance with current technical standards.
  2. Formulate project programs and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  3. Compile maintenance schemes and contracts, monitoring progress to ensure cost-effective maintenance of infrastructure.
  4. Supervise and direct junior staff to promote project delivery to agreed timescales and budgets.
  5. Provide advice on highway design and modifications to mitigate impacts and ensure robust infrastructure.
  6. Procure contractors and appraise financial implications of schemes on overall budget.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Highways engineering.
  • General knowledge of Engineering, Highways, and transport policies and associated legislation.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering/Transportation.
