Morrison Water Services is seeking a forward-thinking and self-motivated SHEQ Advisor to join our team on our Welsh Water contract. As a key member of our SHEQ team, you will work closely with our operations teams to ensure the safe delivery of all utility replacement work.
Key Responsibilities- Advise Morrison Water Services construction managers, team leaders, and site operatives on statutory health and safety requirements.
- Encourage the reporting of near misses through proactive engagement.
- Regularly inspect work locations and prepare and submit site inspections in a timely manner.
- Review and approve risk assessments and method statements.
- Ensure temporary works are implemented safely.
- Conduct investigations of incidents and accidents, identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence.
- Report incidents in line with Morrison Water Services and our clients' reporting systems and minimum requirements.
- Compile and submit monthly KPI reports within agreed timescales to the regional SHEQ manager.
- Deliver project inductions and undertake D&A testing (random and following incidents).
- Assist Morrison Water Services operational teams in closing out actions in a timely manner.
- Support Wellbeing Campaigns and deliver toolbox talks and briefings on subject matter.
- Assist in the identification of safety training needs for site-based personnel and bring these to the attention of the SHEQ Manager.
- Co-operate with the Health and Safety Executive in connection with their site visits.
- Suggest, communicate, and promote initiatives for accident prevention and monitor compliance with both Morrison Water Services management systems and our clients' service management systems.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Hold an appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card, EUSR SHEA Gas/Power, and/or EUSR Water Hygiene.
- Member of IOSH.
- Working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation, best practice, street works, and locating underground utilities/services.
- Knowledgeable in Temporary Works, environmental regulations, and NERs, GERs, and WERs (desirable).
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and evaluate safety practices, procedures, attitudes, and awareness and recommend methods of improvement.
- Experienced in delivering training modules and project inductions.
- Knowledge of a variety of occupational health risk environments, such as confined spaces and utilities service avoidance.
