Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Development Manager to join our New Site Development EMEA team, responsible for driving the development of new and existing data center campuses in South Wales. The successful candidate will work closely with our Development Managers and Delivery Directors to assess, de-risk, and commercially manage data center developments, ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating and selecting new sites for data center assets, ensuring alignment with our regional strategy.
  • Support Development Managers and Delivery Directors in design, engineering, scheduling, and budgeting for new projects, including site assessment, risk mitigation, conceptual design, and development of construction documents.
  • Work closely with the Development Managers and Delivery Directors to ensure design, procurement, permitting, and power workstreams are set up for construction and operations success.
  • Manage information, financing, invoicing, tracking of actions, development of processes, and management of SharePoint.

Requirements

  • Construction and project management experience is preferred but not required.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in additional European languages advantageous.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in multiple communication tools and packages, and advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with limited information.
  • Strong organization skills, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and prioritize work effort with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on general topics.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex business concepts and documents.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and self-directed, with the ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including remotely, while traveling, across multiple time zones, and cross-functionally.
