About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HV Technician to join our team at UK Power Networks. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance activities on high-voltage electrical equipment, including transmission and distribution systems.
- Perform construction and maintenance activities on a range of HV, LV equipment, including transmission and distribution equipment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address potential safety risks and environmental concerns.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and contractors to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
- Completed apprenticeship and traceable industry experience, post-apprenticeship.
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Mechanical experience.
- Experience in HV & LV Operational Construction and Maintenance work planning.
- Traceable work history.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Obtain a Client Infrastructure Security Passes.
- Medical and Drugs and Alcohol screening.
- Full drivers licence.
- Competent Person to receive HV & LV safety documentation.
- Understand distribution safety rules and the competency structure around HV.
- Operational understanding systems through the range 400kV to 433v & 400v.
- Experience undertaking routine inspection and maintenance activities for HV & LV Assets.
- Use the Asset Management System (SAP).
- Confined space training.
- PASMA certified for prefabricated scaffold erection.
- Compliance with UK Power Networks Services O&M Procedures relating to Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment.
- Follow the requirements detailed in Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
