About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HV Technician to join our team at UK Power Networks. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our high-voltage electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance activities on high-voltage electrical equipment, including transmission and distribution systems.
  • Perform construction and maintenance activities on a range of HV, LV equipment, including transmission and distribution equipment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address potential safety risks and environmental concerns.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and contractors to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
Requirements
  • Completed apprenticeship and traceable industry experience, post-apprenticeship.
  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Mechanical experience.
  • Experience in HV & LV Operational Construction and Maintenance work planning.
  • Traceable work history.
  • Criminal Record Check.
  • Obtain a Client Infrastructure Security Passes.
  • Medical and Drugs and Alcohol screening.
  • Full drivers licence.
  • Competent Person to receive HV & LV safety documentation.
  • Understand distribution safety rules and the competency structure around HV.
  • Operational understanding systems through the range 400kV to 433v & 400v.
  • Experience undertaking routine inspection and maintenance activities for HV & LV Assets.
  • Use the Asset Management System (SAP).
  • Confined space training.
  • PASMA certified for prefabricated scaffold erection.
  • Compliance with UK Power Networks Services O&M Procedures relating to Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment.
  • Follow the requirements detailed in Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
