Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our waste management facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and diagnose mechanical equipment failures, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Perform scheduled maintenance work on mechanical equipment, adhering to company standards and procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the team, including training and development of technical trainees.
- Maintain and repair technical equipment, including pumps, control gear, valves, and measurement systems.
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical systems, holding NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering.
- Upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience working on large industrial plant equipment, including various pumps, within the utilities industry.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues, with the ability to participate in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota.
- A full UK driving license is essential, with all necessary equipment, including vehicles and tools, provided.
- Competitive salary up to £39,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with length of service, plus bank holidays.
