The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) serves as a prominent professional organization representing over 25,000 educational leaders throughout the UK. We are currently seeking to welcome a new member to our team.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid working model, combining remote work with in-office presence at our Leicester headquarters (specific frequency to be determined during the interview process).
ASCL is on the lookout for a qualified attorney specializing in labor law, eager to embrace a distinctive opportunity to work in-house within a dynamic and engaging team environment.
This role presents an exciting chance to join our seasoned legal department. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of attorneys and report directly to ASCL's Senior Attorney.
The legal department is tasked with delivering guidance and representation for the organization and its members, who are senior leaders in the educational sector.
As a successful candidate, you will engage in a diverse array of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Providing counsel to members navigating internal processes with their employers.
- Handling employment tribunal litigation.
- Representing members in professional discipline cases before their regulatory bodies.
- Participating in inquests and public inquiries.
Applicants must be qualified labor law attorneys with ideally 1-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
Work Location: This position is based at ASCL HQ in Leicester, with the option for remote work. The post-holder will be expected to be present at HQ for a minimum of three days per week and as needed.
Occasional overnight travel may also be necessary.
Compensation Structure: This role offers a salary range from £46,771 to £51,430, with reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses covered.
