In the role of Project Manager, you will be integrated into our Operational Team, which is tasked with the effective execution of Overhead Line Projects.

Potential initiatives will encompass both the comprehensive refurbishment of existing Overhead Power Lines and the establishment of new lines essential for ensuring energy reliability in the UK. Projects are currently in various stages of development across the country.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing Health & Safety Plans and Quality Plans for all operational sites, contributing to the formulation of necessary Policies & Procedures.
  • Ensuring that all required documentation is maintained, adhered to, and regularly assessed for all site-based operations.
  • Communicating timely programming and change notifications to support other internal departments.
  • Providing technical assistance to the Design department as needed.
  • Serving as the primary contact for correspondence and meetings with external parties.
  • Collaborating closely with the Head of Operations and Head of Portfolio to coordinate and allocate appropriate resources across projects.
  • Documenting contract changes and compensation events, ensuring that cost and schedule impact evaluations are conducted with the Commercial team.
  • Utilizing project control to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Submitting accurate and compliant time bookings, out-of-pocket expenses, and allowances in a timely manner.
  • Generating monthly contract review reports.
  • Creating project close-out reports.
  • Participating in contract review and progress meetings.
  • Mentoring and coaching members of the project-specific management team.
  • Providing leadership to the project-specific management team.
  • Acting as the representative of M Group Services with clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining commercial and contractual awareness to ensure proper administration of contracts, safeguarding potential entitlements.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Proficient understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contract administration, particularly NEC3/4.
  • Familiarity with the fundamental construction elements of the UK electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure.
  • Over 5 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with major clients, including leading discussions with various stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to and work from various sites across the UK, with a full clean driving license.
  • Desirable: Operational experience in Overhead Line construction and refurbishment projects.
  • Desirable: Project Management qualifications and/or a degree in a relevant field.
  • Desirable: A recognized Health & Safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH General Certificate.
