Job Summary:
Voyage Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to lead our residential service in Bridgwater, Somerset. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of the individuals we support, who have autism and learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of Support Workers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
- Assist the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service, including allocating shifts, booking training, and inducting new colleagues.
- Support individuals to gain more independence in their daily lives, while promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with the Manager to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture, promoting a sense of community and belonging among colleagues and individuals supported.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker or in a similar role.
- Experience working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and individuals supported.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of the service.
- Commitment to promoting the rights, dignity, and well-being of individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
