Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at Hays Senior Finance. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial planning and monitoring of research activity, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders, and contributing to the production of detailed budgets and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the production of detailed budgets for research activities, ensuring accurate forecasting and monitoring of financial performance.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to stakeholders, including budget holders and research leads, to ensure effective financial management and decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed quarterly and year-end monitoring statements, updating forecasts and analyzing variances to ensure optimal financial performance.
  • Act as an advisor on financial matters, attending meetings and providing recommendations to stakeholders to ensure effective financial management.
  • Support the Chief Finance Officer and Head of Finance in identifying and addressing major financial issues related to research.
  • Maintain and improve systems for recording and monitoring financial activities, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Provide professional supervision of financial administration staff, ensuring adherence to procedures and processes.
  • Engage with University and school working groups, analyzing information and providing briefings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Maximize the use of SAP to improve efficiency and flow of information.

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant with extensive financial management experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise financial advice and guidance.
  • Strong management accounting and project accounting experience, with the ability to manage complex financial projects and provide financial guidance to stakeholders.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive remuneration package, including a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.
  • Up to 20% pension contribution.
  • 30 days annual leave + bank holiday.
