About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Medicine Consultant to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and improve our stroke pathways and SSNAP performance.
  • Work closely with the existing team of Consultants to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in clinical audit and continuing medical education.
  • Provide cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours consultant rota.
Leadership and Development
  1. Support the Clinical Lead in policy and strategy development as a senior member of the Division Management Team.
  2. Contribute to the leadership and development of Services under the direction of the Clinical Lead and Associate Medical Director.
  3. Work within the Trust's framework for Clinical Governance and Risk.
  4. Undertake investigations and report writing for incidents.
Requirements
  • Clinical training/experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT.
  • Expertise in all aspects of stroke medicine.
  • Ability to teach clinical skills to trainees and multi-disciplinary teams.
