About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at TaxAssist, a leading small business accountancy practice in London. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality accounting and business support to our clients, including interim and annual accounts preparation, VAT returns, and corporate and personal tax returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide complete accounting and business support to clients, including review of first draft tax returns/accounts before sending to clients.
  • Support the management and administration of the technical side of the Practice by implementing policy improvements, training staff, and keeping review files.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, Directors, and clients.
  • Assist in monitoring and meeting client deadlines.
Requirements
  • ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Or qualified by experience (minimum 5 years' experience required).
  • Up-to-date UK tax knowledge.
  • Relevant and recent small accountancy practice experience.
  • Good written and spoken English, to explain complex accounting matters clearly to clients.
  • Customer-focused approach to work and commercial awareness.
  • A proactive, positive, and self-motivated attitude with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience in practice software, including QuickBooks, Xero, and Dext.
  • The ability to adapt to new software, systems, and regulatory changes.
  • Ability to take responsibility for all aspects of technical work.
