We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Researcher in Microbiology to join our team at Brunel University London. As a key member of our Division of Biosciences, you will contribute to our world-leading scientific research and high-quality research-led teaching.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of high-quality research in microbiology, with a focus on areas such as microbial infection, antibiotic resistance, and drug discovery. You will be responsible for developing and leading research projects, mentoring students, and teaching data analysis courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality research in microbiology, with a focus on microbial infection, antibiotic resistance, and drug discovery
- Develop and lead research projects, including securing research funding and collaborating with international partners
- Mentor students and supervise research projects
- Teach data analysis courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Contribute to the development of research-led teaching programs in the Department of Life Sciences
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as microbiology, biochemistry, or a related disciplineA proven track record of high-quality research and publication in peer-reviewed journalsExperience of research proposal development and securing research fundingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and studentsA strong commitment to research-led teaching and student-centred learningWhat We Offer
