This is a part-time position, working 0.6wte, which equates to three days a week (22.5 hours per week), with some flexibility required, particularly on Thursdays.
We are seeking a dedicated, adaptable, and compassionate Imaging Assistant to become an integral part of our Breast Imaging team at Barts Health.
The successful candidate will primarily be stationed at St Bartholomew's but will also provide support at the Breast Imaging Unit located at Whipps Cross Hospital and Newham University Hospital.
A key responsibility of this role is to ensure the delivery of exceptional care to women referred to our services. This will involve assisting Radiographers and Radiologists with various x-ray and ultrasound procedures, offering clerical and reception support, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and fostering effective communication while collaborating as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities
Candidates should exhibit a caring and empathetic demeanor, coupled with strong interpersonal skills. Given the nature of our work, patients often arrive feeling anxious or distressed; therefore, it is essential to provide clear explanations and instructions in a friendly and approachable manner. Organizational skills and adherence to established procedures are crucial, alongside the ability to think critically and make independent decisions. Candidates should be adept at initiating tasks and ensuring their completion.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is essential, particularly in roles involving direct patient interaction. Familiarity with Infection Control practices is required, and prior experience in receptionist duties, as well as knowledge of clerical procedures, would be advantageous.
