Key Responsibilities of the Enterprise Solutions Architect:

  • Convert business and technical needs into a comprehensive architectural framework that meets business goals, documenting all architectural design and analytical efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure a solid architectural foundation that can accommodate future business demands throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Create and uphold high-quality technical designs for applications and solutions within your designated area, identifying weaknesses and ensuring conformity when necessary.
  • Recognize appropriate technical solutions that fulfill business requirements while minimizing redundancy and technical complexity.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to develop high-quality, resilient, secure, and operational solutions that optimize total cost of ownership and determine retirement timelines.

Experience & Skills Required for Success as an Enterprise Solutions Architect:

Essential:

  • At least five years of experience across two or more IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management, or cloud development.
  • Familiarity with a variety of technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in solution design standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical understanding and application of knowledge to resolve problems and business challenges.
  • Solid grasp of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of both existing and new technologies to evolving business and operational models.
  • Hands-on operational knowledge of Microsoft .NET, Microsoft SQL, Azure DevOps, and automated deployment tools.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with third-party application providers.

Desirable:

  • Experience as a SCRUM Master or within Agile teams.
  • Degree-level education.
  • Awareness of security considerations in line with UK GDPR, including best practices.
  • Understanding of event-driven and microservices architecture.
