Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at GE's Power Conversion business. As a key member of our systems engineering organization, you will be responsible for developing innovative electrical design solutions for electrical equipment and switchboards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed circuit diagrams using E-Plan and create and manage parts and BoMs in Siemens Teamcenter PLM system.
  2. Create electrical equipment 2D layouts using AutoCAD.
  3. Provide technical guidance for electrical design requirements for equipment, supporting the procurement of electrical parts and assemblies and resolving quality issues with vendors.
  4. Participate in factory acceptance testing on electrical equipment and support the quality function in the timely resolution of customer issues and the identification of root causes.
  5. Ensure that 'Design for Manufacture and Assembly' techniques are implemented in the design process.
  6. Participate in technical reviews of designs, providing support for the resolution of problems and ensuring all designs incorporate best engineering practices.

Requirements:

  1. A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant experience in an electrical design engineering environment.
  2. Good technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical circuit design and testing procedures.
  3. Proficiency in the use of E-Plan or similar design software, for the creation of electrical circuit diagrams.
  4. Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD for the creation of 2D drawings.
  5. Good engineering, communication, and organisational skills.
  6. British citizenship with a valid British Passport with unrestricted right to travel.
  7. In possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
