Reed Accountancy is seeking an experienced Head of Payroll to lead the delivery of accurate and reliable payroll services for all employees globally, including expatriates. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience outlined below.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll Service Delivery: Ensure the delivery of accurate and reliable payroll services globally, meeting all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- External Payroll Provider Management: Lead delivery requirements with external payroll providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Payroll Team Support: Support and coach the payroll team to handle all aspects of the employee life cycle service, manage workloads, and handle high demands.
- Customer Service: Model excellent customer service to create a culture of excellence and ensure a positive employee experience.
- Process Improvement: Implement continuous improvements in payroll and HR data processes, including automation, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Project Support: Support payroll-related projects and standardize payroll services across locations to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for payroll issues, providing insights and performance data on compliance processes and payroll performance.
- Audit and Compliance: Ensure audit-level process checks for legislative and company compliance, maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with stakeholders and employees to manage pay-impacting issues and ensure a smooth payroll experience.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with HR to understand business needs and deliver effective services, and liaise with Finance and Accounting to ensure a robust and audited payroll.
- Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation and benefit programs effectively, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Experience: Experience in HR/Payroll Operations for a multinational organization (4,000+ employees), handling international payrolls and supervisory experience.
- Payroll Service Provider Experience: Experience with third-party payroll service providers and awareness of regulatory requirements in major markets (US, UK, Angola, Brazil).
- Leadership Skills: High integrity, sound judgment, and confidentiality, with the ability to anticipate service needs and escalate when necessary.
- Coaching and Development: Experienced supervisor capable of coaching for high performance and understanding of employee experience, relationship management, and customer service.
- Technical Skills: Experience with HRMS and payroll-related software, strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and comfortable dealing with employees at all levels.
- Delivery and Performance: Strong delivery against performance targets, self-motivated with minimal supervision, and sound judgment and empathy with internal and external customers.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Resilience to manage peaks of activity or challenge, and ability to summarize critical information to improve payroll performance.
