About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our team at Workman LLP. As a key member of our Building Consultancy team, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of roles including contract and project work to professional services including Technical Due Diligence, dilapidations, and fire safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage multiple building surveying instructions simultaneously for a range of key clients, providing expert advice and support on schedules of dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, due diligence, development monitoring, defect diagnosis, fire safety advice, and schedules of condition reports.
  2. Work closely with landlords and tenants to ensure that you are advising and delivering on the most environmentally sustainable methods and materials, aligning with their ESG initiatives.
  3. Develop a strategic view on the life cycle of the property asset and understand the clear objectives of the client brief, working collaboratively with team members to achieve project goals.
  4. Be available and present to assist in opportunities in the business and be keen to progress your career, taking on leadership roles and mentoring less experienced team members.
  5. Motivate and manage a small team of surveyors from apprentice, graduate, and surveyor levels, supporting them with their further studies and professional development.

Requirements

  1. Commercial property experience in a similar consultancy is preferred.
  2. Hybrid working arrangement offering a great work-life balance, with a minimum of three days in the office.
  3. A full-time contract (35 hours a week) with core hours of 10 am - 4 pm, allowing additional flexibility to start work at a time that suits you.
