Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost statements for assessment purposes.
  • Draft cost claims for submission to opposing legal representatives and the judiciary.
  • Engage in negotiations regarding cost matters.
  • Compile Statements of Costs for summary evaluations.
  • Develop comprehensive cost budgets.
  • Formulate Points of Dispute and corresponding Replies.
  • Prepare applications for interim Costs Certificates and assemble hearing bundles for detailed assessments.
  • Represent clients at hearings concerning cost assessments or budget evaluations.
  • Assist in the creation of High Costs Case Plans for submission to the judiciary or third-party representatives.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance to fee earners and support personnel on cost-related inquiries.
  • Draft cost estimates to accompany Allocation Questionnaires and Pre-Trial Checklists.
  • Prepare statements of costs (N260s) for summary evaluations.
  • Conduct negotiations regarding cost-related issues.
  • Draft Notices of Commencement for serving bills of costs on responsible parties.
  • Prepare points of dispute and responses to such points.
  • Attend detailed assessment hearings.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by senior management.

Candidate Profile:
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Cost Estimator.
  • Proficient in drafting bills of costs for specific claims.
  • Experience in cost negotiations.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
