Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading pallets of mixed chemical waste containers from curtain-sider vehicles using a counterbalance forklift truck.
  • Operating a forklift truck for the transportation of packaged materials between storage and processing areas.
  • Ensuring packaged materials are stored in bunded areas following hazard segregation instructions under the supervision of a chemist.
  • Sorting and segregating chemical waste streams and repacking/unpacking waste.
  • Assisting team members with recycling efforts across the site.
  • Breaking down materials to maximize recycling efficiency.
  • Using a forklift truck to load vehicles and move materials around the site.
  • Emptying bins and replacing bags in office and factory settings.
  • Operating various machinery as required.
  • Performing manual handling tasks and other assorted duties.
  • Working outdoors with full PPE provided.
  • Assisting with site cleaning duties and ensuring work areas are tidy at the end of each day.
  • Training will be provided.
  • Scheduled breaks include a half-hour break each day, plus a 10-minute stop.

Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday 07.15 start finish.

Friday – 07.00 start – 12.00 Noon finish.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must possess a counterbalance forklift license and a valid driving license.
  • Willingness to provide occasional cover for night shifts, with applicable night shift rates.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding and application of Health & Safety standards.
  • A DBS check will be necessary to work in certain areas of the site, with company assistance provided.
