About the Role
Trade Marketing Manager
The Trade Marketing Manager plays a vital role in driving performance across our retail, coffee shops, and pubs and bars by implementing the Trade Marketing strategy and securing supplier investment. This involves staying up-to-date with market dynamics, understanding consumer behavior, and building strong relationships with key supplier partners.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales channel teams to develop Trade Marketing strategies that align with business objectives.
- Nurture and maintain relationships with key trade partners, working with them to showcase the SSP network, understand brand plans, and develop marketing initiatives.
- Create Activation Plans, coordinate marketing POS materials, and allocate resources for supplier campaigns.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to inform Trade Marketing decisions.
- Work closely with business channel teams to implement the Annual Trade Marketing Plan.
- Align with Purchasing to negotiate supplier agreements.
- Work with Finance to ensure timely invoicing of Trade Marketing activities.
- Track and forecast annual Trade Marketing income for suppliers.
- Contribute to the development of the annual Trade Marketing budget.
- Support the organization of the annual Supplier Conference to share trading strategies and build relationships.
Key Skills and Experience
• Proven experience in Trade Marketing, including strategy and budget development.
• Advanced supplier relationship building and negotiation skills.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of sales drivers.
• Ability to identify opportunities and turn them into profitable activities.
• Project management skills to deliver Trade Marketing strategies.
• Fact-based analysis and decision-making skills.
• Experience in drawing out business insights from analysis and presenting findings persuasively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of operational realities in units.
• Team leadership, coaching, and development experience.
Desirable Skills and Attributes
• Buying/Commercial plus Marketing experience.
• Innovative and bold approach to Trade Marketing.
• Ability to build and work to a solid plan to achieve targets.
