About the Role

Trade Marketing Manager

The Trade Marketing Manager plays a vital role in driving performance across our retail, coffee shops, and pubs and bars by implementing the Trade Marketing strategy and securing supplier investment. This involves staying up-to-date with market dynamics, understanding consumer behavior, and building strong relationships with key supplier partners.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with sales channel teams to develop Trade Marketing strategies that align with business objectives.
  2. Nurture and maintain relationships with key trade partners, working with them to showcase the SSP network, understand brand plans, and develop marketing initiatives.
  3. Create Activation Plans, coordinate marketing POS materials, and allocate resources for supplier campaigns.
  4. Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to inform Trade Marketing decisions.
  5. Work closely with business channel teams to implement the Annual Trade Marketing Plan.
  6. Align with Purchasing to negotiate supplier agreements.
  7. Work with Finance to ensure timely invoicing of Trade Marketing activities.
  8. Track and forecast annual Trade Marketing income for suppliers.
  9. Contribute to the development of the annual Trade Marketing budget.
  10. Support the organization of the annual Supplier Conference to share trading strategies and build relationships.

Key Skills and Experience


• Proven experience in Trade Marketing, including strategy and budget development.
• Advanced supplier relationship building and negotiation skills.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of sales drivers.
• Ability to identify opportunities and turn them into profitable activities.
• Project management skills to deliver Trade Marketing strategies.
• Fact-based analysis and decision-making skills.
• Experience in drawing out business insights from analysis and presenting findings persuasively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of operational realities in units.
• Team leadership, coaching, and development experience.

• Buying/Commercial plus Marketing experience.
