An exciting opportunity has arisen for a joint appointment with MSEFT and the University of Essex. The position involves providing clinical leadership to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Cancer Studies, enhancing cancer research activity in MSEFT across data sciences, biology, genomics, health sciences, and population health.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Cancer Studies
  • Enhance cancer research activity in MSEFT
  • Work clinically as a Consultant Oncologist specializing in Lung and Melanoma in the MSEFT Oncology Department
About the Centre

The Centre for Interdisciplinary Cancer Studies is a collaborative center for cancer studies between the University of Essex and MSEFT. The center aims to use data to answer real-world questions to improve patient outcomes and experiences.

Requirements
  • Evidence of completion of specialist training or equivalent
  • A higher degree with an MD or PhD
  • MRCP/FRCR or equivalent
  • Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register for oncology or within 6 months of attainment at the time of interview
  • Evidence of Management training
  • Formal training in Data Science or experience in collaborative work in Data Science/AI/Machine learning
Knowledge and Experience
  • Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in the specialty
  • Able to take full and independent responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision
Teaching Experience
  • Knowledge and experience of supervising undergraduates, junior doctors, and other staff
Salary and Benefits

Salary: £93,666 a year (Pro Rata for Part Time)
