Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Churchill. As a senior medical lead, you will provide senior medical cover on our 17-bedded acute service for men and oversee the care of all ward inpatients. You will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance with GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.
About the TeamCygnet Hospital Churchill is a 57-bed inpatient mental health hospital for men, with a Good CQC overall rating. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality care and treatment to our patients, and we are looking for a skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join us.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide senior medical cover on our 17-bedded acute service for men.
- Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT.
- Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users.
- Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits.
- Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management, and embed clinical governance.
- Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers hearings and attend hearings.
- Participate in the 1 in 3 Second telephone on-call rota.
- Salary up to £150,000 per year (DOE).
