Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Controller to join our team at Safran Engineering Services UK Limited on a contractor basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate inventory activities to achieve reliable targets and optimize inventory levels and costs.
  • Provide escalation support between manufacturing and stores/suppliers who deliver direct to the point of use.
  • Manage manufacturing units' needs defined in the ERP system and in line with inventory rules.
  • Organize activity and inventory storage for point of use components for the manufacturing unit.
  • Support logisticians in their activities to ensure the reliability of movements.
  • Ensure controls are in place to execute inventory discrepancies, physical and system movements, and waste management rules.
  • Notify internal/external schedulers when inventory discrepancies are identified.
  • Monitor and perform cycle counts within the manufacturing unit.
  • Measure and analyze inventory performance in coordination with internal/external schedulers.
  • Develop improvement and corrective action plans with the manufacturing unit.
  • Manage despatch or receipting process for subcontracting where applicable.
  • Lead improvement projects for logistics flows and storage.
  • Conduct stock takes, audits, and assessments.
  • Improve delivery performance through improvement projects.
  • Manage supplier transport, documentation, and requests.
  • Maintain logistics guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Detailed understanding of production processes and supply chain.
  • Proficiency in MRP2 processes.
  • Knowledge of Safran Group products markets.
  • Experience in inventory management and practices.
  • Understanding of customs and transport rules.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with information systems used in the Supply Chain.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and find solutions.
  • Capacity to analyze information provided by other departments.
  • Ability to gauge the importance of discrepancies and anticipate consequences.
