Children's Home Director

**Job Summary:**
Thrive UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Home Manager to lead our residential care services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and support for children and young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Delivery:
- Oversee the daily operations of the children's home to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident admissions, transitions, and discharges.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Lead, manage, and support a team of staff members to ensure excellent care and support services.
- Conduct regular supervisions and appraisals to promote professional development and growth.
- Organize training and development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, including the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, The Children Act 1989 & 2004, and Care Standards Act 2000.
- Implement recommendations from regulatory inspections and audits.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within the home.
- Work closely with social workers, educational professionals, and healthcare providers to support residents' needs.
- Notify local authorities of significant events or incidents as required by safeguarding policies.
- Analyze trends in quality assurance documentation to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in regular meetings to discuss operational issues and implement agreed actions.
- Maintain accurate records related to staffing levels, incidents, and compliance checks.
- Manage performance issues in partnership with senior management and human resources.
- Provide support and guidance to residents facing crises or stressors.
- Ensure that staff are trained in crisis intervention techniques.
- Foster a sense of community within the home through activities that promote well-being among residents.
- Encourage family involvement in the care process when appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum age of 20 years due to regulatory requirements.
- Experience in a senior role within childcare settings.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent qualifications.
- Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ or Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Residential Children's Services or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager within a similar setting.
