Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing financial statements, balance sheets and other financial documents to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Measuring the company's financial performance based on financial records and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Presenting financial recommendations to senior management and providing guidance on financial decisions.
  • Communicating complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders and ensuring effective financial planning and control.
  • Maintenance of bank accounts, including reconciliations and cash flow management.
  • Processing transactions, including coding and posting of cash books, PDQs and guest payments.
  • Managing cash flow and ensuring timely payment of invoices.
  • Entering utility accruals and posting revenue.
  • Procuring and uploading financial data to accounting software.
  • Maintenance of domestic and non-domestic rates, licences and other regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing staff properties and costs, and providing information to HR at payroll year end.
  • Managing the Accounts Receivable inbox and ensuring timely payment of invoices.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the integrity of financial records.
  • Liaising with vendors, banks and consultants to ensure effective financial management.
  • Running statistical reports and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Assisting in month and year end audits and financial reporting processes.
  • Reviewing financial codes and ensuring accurate postings.
  • Analysing sales against expenses and investigating anomalies.
  • Processing capital expenditure requests and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Ensuring all standard operating procedures are followed to maintain appropriate controls and mitigate risk.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Financial Analyst or Accounting Specialist, preferably in the travel industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Previous experience in financial data processing, bookkeeping and financial planning is also helpful.
