Job Summary:

The Shorterm Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join their Building Structures team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day design and project management of projects, working closely with a Project Manager and/or Lead Engineer role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a small team of engineers and technicians working directly on projects.
  • Provide technical support to junior team members as part of their training and development.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Undertake continuing professional development and report progress to relevant institutions.
  • Contribute to the commercial delivery of project elements, including financial reviews, forecasting, and invoicing.
  • Support Project Managers in substantiating variations and resolving contractual disputes.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer status with relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in large energy transmission and distribution projects, or large energy projects and heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, with ability to present to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience of commercial project delivery, including financial management and contract administration.
