Henderson Scott is a leading engineering company at the forefront of innovation in the industry, with a strong commitment to safety and security. Our UK Legal Team provides advice to various business areas, and we are currently seeking a Junior Legal Adviser to join our team.

About the Role

As a Junior Legal Adviser, you will act as a trusted advisor to various stakeholders throughout the business, including senior management. You will provide commercially orientated legal advice to the UK business, as well as to parent and sister companies and colleagues abroad. Your role will involve assisting with company secretarial functions within the Company's and Group Legal Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on matters including contractual terms, disputes, employment, intellectual property, regulatory issues, treasury matters, and company secretarial duties.
  • Assist with company secretarial functions, including DEFCONs and other government terms.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to provide commercially orientated legal advice.
  • Interface with other functions in a multi-cultural environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience working in a private practice law firm.
  • Experience working in an in-house legal team is an advantage.
  • Possess strong drafting, legal analysis, and negotiating skills.
  • Be able to generate commercial risk-based solutions.
