We are seeking an experienced Engineering Workshop Supervisor to lead our aerospace engineering workshop.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, experience in supervising a team, and expertise in utilising CNC machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the workshop team to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of projects
  • Oversee the manufacturing and maintenance of aerospace components using CNC machines
  • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to workshop personnel, including CNC machinists, to optimise their performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in the workshop environment
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to prioritise and schedule work orders based on operational and customer requirements
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within an engineering workshop, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Proficient with CNC machines
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive work environment
What You'll Do

As the Engineering Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the workshop, collaborating with the team on project planning and execution, conducting performance evaluations, and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

You will also interface with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and address any production challenges that may arise.

Key performance indicators include monitoring production flow, maintaining processes and procedures, maximising cycle times, and keeping machines running and meeting OEE targets.

Working Hours and Benefits

Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and 7.30ampm Friday (39 hours)

Salary: £20 per hour depending on experience, equating to £40,560 per annum

Benefits: 33 days holiday, onsite parking, pension
